Ooty & Valparai Hidden Gems

Route we have chosen

Coimbatore -> Coonoor -> Ooty -> Kothagiri -> Metupalayam -> Pollachi -> Valaparai -> Athirapally -> Trissur -> Palakkad -> Coimbatore


Day 1 

All of us from different parts arrived at Coimbatore morning.

Had some Tamilnadu style breakfast with Pongal, Vada etc., and did get a vehicle to kick off our Journey.

We had terrible sunny experience till here around 3PM

had some snacks and continued our Journey






Around 4.30PM weather changed drastically , we had 0 visibility across the road.

Full of Fog and Mist.

So due to huge mist, we lost the beautiful view points, it whitewashed all the Greeny views of Dolphin nose View Point & Lambs rock View point.









Luckily we spotted Bison's on Road

then it turned dark so we headed to our Stay.

Nice scenic view from Room, since now a days Ooty is getting busier, we thought of getting stay at some other place

Room stay post Lovedale station area.








sine this area is bit remote, we need to travel a bit for Food or Shopping.



Night dinner we did at Ching's cafe, and while stepping out of cafe we were stunned to see few Bisons standing at entrance .


Day 2:

We started our Day early and headed towards to Dodabetta Peak, got some stunning views from there and this is also Highest peak in Ooty.Must visit place.







and we returned back to Ooty town and had Kerala cuisince Breakfast 
Like Appam, Puttu etc., decent enough at Thalassery restaurant.



and we went to Pine forest.
Beautiful location for photographs, but the rush is huge due to weekends.





and to Pykara falls.
need to walk a bit,and views are worth to watch for the walk.



while returning we went for Ooty Lake and Tea Factory 




had Lunch at Kalid's Briyani and returned to Room for resting.



Night thought of to do some Shopping at Famous Tibetian Market
people are good enough to sell the stuff we need.

Night we had dinner at Jain's hotel.



Day 3:

The place we stayed has Strawberry farm, so visited there and started our Journey to Valparai via Kothagiri.





Reached Coimbatore to have Thalapakatti Biryani at lunch.



Around 4PM Reached Pollachi and got tasty coconut water.


We skipped Aliyar dam due to time constraint. since we need to reach top before sun goes down.

Visited Monkey falls.





Took some photographs across various Hair pin bend view points and waterfall restaurant view point.
    



We got sudden surprises from Wild Stag crossing our vehicle and Black Langur.



Got stay at Saravana Hotel at town.

Had awesome dinner at Anbu hotel




had a walk at Valparai roads at night.

Day 4:

Morning we started from Valparai to Athirapally.
in between we had views at Sholayar Dam, 

Vazhachal Falls, 




Athirapally falls.








the forest route is a wonderful experience. Now recently roads are well maintained at state border.

Now returned to Coimbatore via Thrissur & Palakkad.

Finally it is around 6.30PM, planned to Visit Isha Centre to see Gigantic Adhi Yogi 




It was hard stop for this endless trip.

Difference between a muffler and a catalytic converter

A muffler makes the  car  quiet, the cat makes the exhaust clean. Cars built after 1974 originally had both, but it's legal to run with no muffler as long as the car isn't too loud. The cat is required, you can't pass emissions without one. Some people will remove the cat, if they live in a county without  emissions testing , but that is illegal. If you have a car with no  catalytic converter , and the muffler goes bad, sure you could put a cat on instead. They're more expensive, and louder, but that would get you legal. Actually, the cat is supposed to be mounted closer to the engine, where there is more exhaust heat to burn off exhaust crud. I suppose if you wanted to, you could run two catalytic converters. That would greatly restrict your exhaust and cut down on horsepower, probably reduce fuel economy as well. The advantages of using a Nitrox suspension - Gas charged suspensions. The rear shock absorbers on current Bajaj Pulsar series bikes are also popularly known as NITROX shock absorbers . These types of shock absorbers are actually called as ‘Gas Filled Shock Absorbers’. The visual differentiation between a conventional shock absorber and a gas filled shock absorber is a small canister (box) which is attached on one side of it. This canister holds a small amount of Nitrogen gas in it. Hence these hydraulic shock absorbers or dampers are called as gas filled shock absorbers.
