Research on ‘executive success’ indicates that problem solving skills is perhaps the single most important factor in the success of individuals and organizations. The willingness and ability to work hard is a necessary condition for success, it is however not a sufficient one. An organization can perform reasonably well doing things the way the best organizations do, however this can propel the organization to, at best, a number two position. The leadership position shall belong to organizations that do better than themselves. 


Structure of NCAT

The NCAT is open for students of engineering, management and science streams in institutes of higher education enrolled in graduate and post-graduate courses. For students in different years of their degree courses there will be separate tests in which student’s creative thinking and logical reasoning abilities will be tested. The test will be conducted in two phases.

  • Round 1 will be conducted at the college end and two top performing students of each year from each college from round 1 will qualify for the next round of Test.
  • Round 2 will be conducted at Delhi (IIT Delhi*). Apart from MCQs there will be subjective questions on creativity and an activity to assess the achievement motivation of the student.

Question Paper

ROUND 1

The participants have to answer 100 multiple choice questions in 120 minutes. An additional 10 minutes will be given to the participants for filling up the information on the OMR answer sheet at the beginning of exam.
  • Section 1
    • a. Logical Reasoning (20 questions)
    • b. Data Interpretation (20 questions)
    • c. Pattern Recognition (20 questions)
  • Section 2
    • a. Math (20 questions)
  • Section 3
    • a. English (20 questions)
One mark will be allotted for each right answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Students need to achieve the cut off score in sections 2 and 3, the however scores of both these sections shall not be included in the final score required to qualify for the 2nd round.

Exam Timing: 9:30 am to 11:30 am

ROUND 2

The participants have to answer 60 multiple choice questions with subjective questions testing creativity followed by an activity on achievement motivation.
  • Section 1
    • a. Logical Reasoning (20 questions)
    • b. Data Interpretation (20 questions)
    • c. Pattern Recognition (20 questions)
  • Section 2
    • a. Subjective Questions on Creativity
  • Section 3
    • a. One activity on Achievement Motivation

Exam Timing: Exam will start at 11:00 am

In a car, which has a multi(4/6/8) cylinder engine, the above nomenclature viz. 1.6L,1.4L, etc. refers to the combined volume capacity of all the cylinders( expressed in cubic centimeters, 1L=1000 cc).  Here volume capacity refers to the swept volume or displacement volume or breathing capacity of the cylinder. Difference between a muffler and a catalytic converter

A muffler makes the  car  quiet, the cat makes the exhaust clean. Cars built after 1974 originally had both, but it's legal to run with no muffler as long as the car isn't too loud. The cat is required, you can't pass emissions without one. Some people will remove the cat, if they live in a county without  emissions testing , but that is illegal. If you have a car with no  catalytic converter , and the muffler goes bad, sure you could put a cat on instead. They're more expensive, and louder, but that would get you legal. Actually, the cat is supposed to be mounted closer to the engine, where there is more exhaust heat to burn off exhaust crud. I suppose if you wanted to, you could run two catalytic converters. That would greatly restrict your exhaust and cut down on horsepower, probably reduce fuel economy as well. The advantages of using a Nitrox suspension - Gas charged suspensions. The rear shock absorbers on current Bajaj Pulsar series bikes are also popularly known as NITROX shock absorbers . These types of shock absorbers are actually called as ‘Gas Filled Shock Absorbers’. The visual differentiation between a conventional shock absorber and a gas filled shock absorber is a small canister (box) which is attached on one side of it. This canister holds a small amount of Nitrogen gas in it. Hence these hydraulic shock absorbers or dampers are called as gas filled shock absorbers.
